Valentine's Day Memories

February 8, 2015 Beverly Morris

I remember

when Valentines were handed out in elementary school by the "postman" - designated by the teacher. We each had a brown paper bag on our desk and as the postman came by and "delivered" a card from someone you knew or  "guess who" - you put it in your bag. It was an anxious time as each of us worried secretly that our bag might be empty at the end. I suppose the brown bag was to prevent anyone from knowing how popular you were or unpopular if that was your fate.

Fortunately, by the time my children were in school the policy was more forgiving. You were required to give a Valentine to everyone or no one at all.

Not everything in the past was better.....

We are excited to celebrate our good fortune as Canadians to live in a country which permits us to agree or disagree and express our views!

We will be offering our stunning Canada Day Maple Leaves at $3 each, no minimum! Available June 17th until June 28th. If you wish to gift them, we can package them individually at an extra charge. Please contact us to discuss.

This year we will be donating all profits to Belwood Lodge and Camp, a residential summer camp for children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities. A wonderful experience for the campers who can make life long friendships and a bit of respite for their caregivers.
